Hey all. I've just acquired a nice 54 4 door special. I've been working on oldies for a while now. Started with a 54 GMC 1/2 ton that needed a complete redo. hope that should be ready next year sometime. Then I got a 41 chev that was almost done, just to drive while I was working on the GMC. Last year I acquired a 41 Buick special that will need a complete redo when the truck is done. I've been having issues with the chev lately, and got tired of working on it more than driving it, and I came across this beauty 54 buick. so I brought it home. Now the chevs for sale.....any takers..
I do have one question to start. Being from north of the 49th, and having a car that is too, anyone out there have info on canadian paint and trim codes? I have a model 44-69D trim code 40, and paint code 462. any help would be great

Thanks

Rodger

Hello,
My Special has been giving me problems the past couple weeks and Saturday it died. I drove it around the block and came back to garage to lock it up and drive her home to wash and cruise around. When I got 2 blocks from garage it stalled out. The problem is that it's not getting any fuel to carb. I have an electric fuel pump with a gutted mechanical pump for asthetics. Gas should just pass through it. I'm thinking there is a piece of something stuck somewhere. I was thinking about bypassing the mechanical pump altogether. My Dad installed the fuel pump a couple years ago, but the gas tank is new, along with most of the lines and filter. He said when he gutted the mechanical pump that there are screens in there that may be the culprit. Does anyone have any experience with this or tips/instructions on how to cure this problem?

Anybody interested in some NOS Foxcraft skirts for a Roadmaster or Super 4 door? I bought these a few months ago thinking they would fit my Century, but I was wrong. The skirts look great and come with all the hardware including locks for both sides and keys. They are even in the original box and have the instructions! I paid $160 plus shipping, so I'm just trying to recoup some money. Thanks!

Need to sell my '54 Buick Special. It is a 4 door car. V8 (264), 3-speed on column, 12 volt, 115k miles. Someone before me has changed the rockers and patched the floor pan. The rear floor area will need some more attention as can be seen in pictures. The trim and chrome is all there and in ok condition. New headliner and the seats re-covered. Original door panels. Dash board is in great shape and gauges all work. Good radial tires and newer clutch. Great Sunday cruiser or start of restoration car. I do have the original AM radio for the car. I live outside of Pittsburgh, Pa.

Hey guys,
not exactly a technical question, but I've had an inspection done on Caldonia, and found out what she needs to get her roadworthy. I'm on the hunt for parts, and have found a number of them at reasonable prices on ebay.

One thing that has me stitched up at the moment, is having to replace my tail lights. Ive found some on 'classic nos parts' website, but they're $300 for the set. This seems like a lot to me. Any ideas where else I might find them cheaper?

The other thing I'm wondering about, is that they've said I need to replace the windshield. Any ideas? Its a Special Coupe if that makes any difference...

Thanks.
I suspect a lifter that is not up to the task or a rod that had bent. My question concerns the ft lbs torque when reassembling the rocker assembly. The manual does not provide this torque spec.

Here's my boat. I picked her up last year and have been driving her everyday since then. I found her on craigslist about 1 1/2 hours north of me. I got her from a friend of the original owner. She was bone stock except the original owner replaced the locked up nailhead with an olds 350. I absolutely love this car and cannot see myself selling her anytime soon. Things I've done to her include: Firestone wide whites, vintage dress up parts for the motor, new trans, hidden radio that uses the ipod, slammed with Jamco springs out back and cut coils in the front, etc. I just put on the lake pipes this week and I LOVE the look. Me and the Mrs have driven her all over the midwest and as far away as Austin. She just floats down the road.

Hey all, new guy checking in. I've browsed the site a few times, but decided to sign up after running into another member at a bar. I've had my 54 since Labor Day weekend 2011 and I love it. I am a mental health therapist and can be found all over/around Kansas City. I drive the 54 everyday and have had it as far away as Lonestar Roundup in Austin Texas. Next weekend we're hitting the road again and heading to Rust Revival in Wayland Mo. Look forward to learning more about these beasts.
